It’s A Trap
Trump’s War On Immigration Is Damgerous
This is how I prioritize my allegiance—when it comes to nationality or tribalism:
My family, my friends, my farm, my community, my town, my county, my region, my state, people who share my values and goals, the USA, North America, then the rest of the world.
If you believe the United States should function as one monolithic “country,” you’re believing in shoulds, not reality. We’re different. I have more in common with a rural Black man in Oklahoma or Mississippi, or a hard-working illegal in Los Angeles, than almost anyone in New York—food, culture, values, etc.
If the people of California want immigrants, that’s up to them. If they don’t, they should either leave or build a government that bends to their will. Using the military against individuals like this is dangerous and disgraceful—and it sets a terrifying precedent.
And yes, I was firmly against the COVID regime. Just imagine if they’d had this kind of precedent available during the peak of that tyranny.
